Creatures in Balance is a process-based installation developed from a reflection on the human condition and its relationship with surrounding space.
The project emerged through research informed by neuroscience and behavioural studies, and was further developed in Lithuania, where the working context directed the investigation towards perception, balance, and presence.
The suspended objects occupy a condition of apparent stability: they remain motionless, yet never fully secure.
Their balance can only be altered through the proximity, movement, and contact of those passing between them.
In this way, the sculptures behave almost like bodies, communicating fragility, tension, and resistance through their physical presence.
The installation also extends this relationship to the floor, whose softness alters the viewer’s movement and perception of the space.
Walking alongside the suspended forms becomes a bodily experience in which balance is not simply observed, but physically negotiated.
Creatures in Balance explores vulnerability as a relational condition, asking how bodies, objects, and environments continuously influence one another.
Stability is presented not as a fixed state, but as something temporary, dependent on proximity, attention, and the presence of others.
